Buku Metode Berhitung Alif: Melatih Kekuatan Otak pada Anak



Masih ingatkah Anda cara mengerjakan operasi pengurangan bersusun dengan bahasa utang-piutang? Masihkah Anda menggunakan atau mengajarkannya? Ini bahasa yang kurang baik karena mengajarkan mental berhutang (angka) dan tidak membayar utangnya tersebut. Begitu juga bahasa ingat-mengingat dalam operasi penjumlahan bersusun, mengajarkan mental mengingat-ingat apa yang telah  diberikan kepada (angka) yang lain. Sudah saatnya berganti bahasa dengan bahasa yang lebih baik, seperti "memberi lebih baik daripada menerima".

Metode Berhitung Alif: Melatih Kekuatan Otak pada Anak adalah sebuah metode berhitung untuk mengubah kebiasaan yang kurang baik dalam berhitung, yaitu berhutang tetapi tidak untuk dilunasi dan mengingat-ingat apa yang telah diberikan kepada yang lain. Tidak hanya itu, metode berhitung ini dapat digunakan untuk melatih kekuatan atau kemampuan otak pada anak karena menggunakan kebiasaan baru yang berbeda dari biasanya dalam berhitung. Di dalamnya, diperkenalkan Metode Alif, suatu metode yang menerapkan cara membaca al-Qur’an, yaitu membaca dari kanan ke kiri dan menggunaan bahasa akhlak yang dikaitkan dengan pelajaran matematika. Tidak hanya bisa diterapkan pada bilangan desimal, tetapi juga pada basis bilangan lain.
Penerapkan Metode Alif dalam operasi dasar matematika di berbagai basis bilangan bulat ini disebut Metode Berhitung Alif. 
Metode Berhitung Alif sangat sederhana untuk digunakan, tidak mengurangi logika dalam berhitung meskipun menggunakan bahasa yang tidak matematis. Dalam Metode Berhitung Alif, anak diajarkan bahasa akhlak “memberi lebih baik daripada menerima” dalam aturan penyaluran kelebihan bilangan dari sebelah kanan ke sebelah kiri notasi alif sehingga setiap di sebelah kanan notasi alif hanya boleh terdapat satu angka. Selain itu, tidak boleh ada bilangan negatif di sebelah kanan notasi alif sehingga angka yang di sebelah kirinya harus membantu untuk mencukupinya.

Buku Metode Berhitung Alif ini berbeda dari yang lain, berusaha menyatukan berbagai aspek dalam pembelajaran matematika, tidak hanya pada aspek pengetahuan dan keterampilan, tetapi juga aspek sikap. Metode ini mudah dan sederhana, metode yang diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berhitung, kemampuan berimajinasi, dan dapat digunakan untuk mengajarkan akhlak kepada anak. Metode Berhitung Alif ini cocok untuk digunakan untuk semua orang baik yang sedang menempuh pendidikan formal pada tingkat dasar, menengah pertama, menengah atas, mahasiswa, atau pun masyarakat umum. 

Metode Berhitung Alif memiliki kekurangan dalam hal penulisan. Akan tetapi, jika sudah terbiasa menggunakannya maka anak hanya perlu berimajinasi tanpa harus menuliskan angkanya. Kunci dari metode ini adalah kebiasaan membaca dari kanan ke kiri (biasakan membaca al-Qur’an untuk mengubah kebiasaan), membiasakan dengan latihan, kecepatan menulis, dan memahami logika berhitung.

Kesimpulan:
Dengan adanya Metode Berhitung Alif, diharapkan dapat menambah pengetahuan dan wawasan kepada para pengajar matematika bahwa aspek apektif, kognitif, dan psikomotorik dapat dijalankan secara bersama-sama dalam waktu yang bersamaan dalam pembelajaran misalnya pembelajaran matematika dalam rangka mencapai tujuan pendidikan yaitu mencerdaskan kehidupan bangsa yang berakhlak mulia sesuai nilai-nilai yang di anut oleh bangsa Indonesia yang berbudi pekerti baik serta tidak bertentangan dengan syariat agama Islam.
